Biography

After studying screenwriting at the la Fémis, Alice Winocour directed several short films, including Kitchen, selected in Competition at Cannes (2005). In 2011, she directed her first feature film Augustine,starring Vincent Lindon and Soko, selected for the Semaine de la Critique and nominated for the Best First Film César. Her second feature film Disorder, with Matthias Schoenaerts and Diane Kruger, was presented in the Official Selection (Un Certain Regard, 2015). She co-wrote Mustang with the director Deniz Gamze Ergüven, winner of the César for Best Screenplay and represented France at the Oscars in 2016, as well as Cuties by Maïmouna Doucouré. Her third film Proxima, with Eva Green and Matt Dillon, received awards at the Toronto and San Sebastián Film Festivals (2019). She is currently working on her fourth film entitled Paris Memories.
