2014 Winners: what are they doing now? Atsuko Hirayanagi, 2nd Prize

While we await the announcement of the 2015 Cinéfondation Selection, the 2014 prizewinners look back at the Festival and tell us what's been happening since the excitement of Cannes.

3 questions to Atsuko HIRAYANAGI

For her movie OH LUCY!

How did you live your award at the festival de Cannes 2014?

It was all a blur, and an adrenaline rush. It was a very challenging shoot, so the award meant so much to the entire team, who believed in the project. It was a massive collaboration. The award was really for them.

What did your award at Festival de Cannes bring up for you?

After Cannes, we went on to get a special mention at TIFF, and the jury award for international fiction at Sundance, as well as the best international short at Flickerfest. We are 2016 Academy Awards qualified now, and it all started at Cannes!

Have you new projects?

I am developing a few projects, but the focus is on the feature script of Oh Lucy! Hope to have the privilege to show it at Cannes one day!
