Karim Aïnouz (LaRésidence 2003) presents his new film “The Invisible Life of Eurídice Gusmão” in Competition at the last Cannes Film Festival winner of Un Certain Regard Prize.
Rio de Janeiro, 1950. Euridice, 18 years old, and Guida, 20 years old, are two indivisible siblings. Classical piano prodigy Eurídice dreams of studying at the Vienna Conservatory. Her sister, Guida, however, dreams of a great love. Because of their father they are kept apart, and years pass as the two sisters forge their respective paths through their city, each believing the other to be half a world away.
